Physiotherapy Services

Here at Bayridge Physiotherapy we use a variety of therapy tools to help decrease your pain, improve your functionality, increase your range of motion and more!

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a hands-on approach whereby your physiotherapist uses various manipulation skills to reduce restrictions in joints, restore muscle function, improve and restore movement and resolve pain. Our therapists have extensive experience and knowledge in the application of these techniques.

Modalities

Modalities may be used in conjunction with other therapy techniques to help manage pain, enhance tissue repair, reduce inflammation, re-educate muscles and decrease inflammation.

Our modalities include:

Extracorporeal Shockwave therapy (ESWT)

Interferential Current (IFC)

Neuromuscular Stimulation (NMS)

Therapeutic Ultrasound

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) machine

Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves inserting small filament needles into acupuncture points. This helps realign your body's natural energy flow to increase healing, increase blood flow and reduce pain.

Dry Needling

Dry needling involves needling of muscular trigger points to help relax overactive muscles and correct myofascial dysfunctions.

Taping

We use athletic taping (K-Tape) and rigid tape (Leuko tape) to unload and realign target muscles to help improve muscles function and reduce pain. Taping helps our clients to continue to move injured body part with minimal to no pain until their pain resolves with treatment. It also allows our clients to continue their sport while the treatment is ongoing.

Custom Knee bracing

We also provide custom-made knee unloader brace used for ACL, PCL, MCL, LCL injuries and Knee osteoarthritis. These braces are tailored to fit the knee and therefore provide maximum support and comfort to knee joint and ligaments and allow mobility at the same time.

Custom Orthotics

Custom orthotics play an important part in reducing pain and restoring mobility. Orthotics

work by aligning lower limb joints (including foot, ankle, knee and hip joints) in the most efficient manner thereby reducing strain on joints particularly spinal joints of lower back.

Orthotics are prescribed to treat various conditions like plantar fasciitis, heel spur, pain from foot, knee and hip arthritis and low back pain.

Over-the-counter braces

Braces play an important part in reducing pain and restoring mobility. Braces work by supporting joints in a relatively pain-free position and thus allow increased pain free

mobility in conditions like plantar fasciitis, heel spur, foot arthritis, knee arthritis and low back pain, ankle sprains, strains, patellofemoral pain syndrome, etc.

We carry over-the-counter braces of various manufacturers.

Our therapists work with different providers to obtain the most suitable braces for our clients.
