No, we do not require a doctor's note. However, some extended health care plans do require that you have a doctor's referral in order to receive coverage for physiotherapy services.

How many treatments will I need?

There are many factors that play a part in the recovery process, which makes it difficult to determine a specific number of treatments necessary. You can expect that the physiotherapist will want to see you up to 2 times a week for 4 weeks or longer. This ensures that you are receiving the appropriate amount of care necessary for a quick recovery.

What can I expect from my first visit?

During your first visit you will meet with one of our physiotherapists who will conduct a thorough assessment to determine a diagnosis and the cause of your injury/condition. The assessment involves taking history, postural observation, outcome measure for specific condition, range of motion, strength tests, functional test and special tests for ligaments, joints, etc. Following, the assessment the physiotherapist will provide you information about your injury, treatment plan and other step necessary for your recovery.

What should I bring to my first visit?

If you have extended health care benefits please bring your insurance card. If your insurance company requires a doctor referral for coverage and you have one please bring that. Depending on the area to be assessed you may need to bring shorts or a t-shirt. For example, if it is your knees the physiotherapist will be assessing you will need to bring shorts.
